Eddie Yap

Eddie Yap has been cited in Lone Planet guide books

Eddie Yap has always had a love for the outdoors and he developed this in his early years as a scout. In 2005, he started to share his enjoyment on a professional basis by taking people on guided treks into the wonderful rainforest in Kuala Kubu Baru (KKB).

He is a Certified Nature Guide (licence #10400 by the Ministry of Tourism) and always aim to ensure that his clients very much enjoy the interpretive nature walk through the jungle. In addition he has a high standard of English communication skills as well as being able to speak local languages including Malay and Chinese (Cantonese). Eddie is also cited in the most recent Lonely Planet guide for Malaysia, Singapore & Brunei (see page 33 for KKB).

In his own words…

Before coming to discover my passion for trekking and guiding I was a Lead Kayak Guide with Nomad Adventure from 2003 – 2005. I am a certified Whitewater Rescue Technician (WRT) and also currently work as a free –lance kayak/raft rescue guide.

My professional background of over 30 years is as a Textile Designer specializing in hand painted textiles and Batik. I am now still producing exclusive Batik and have incorporated Shibori work into my repertoire, which continues to be very much influenced by the natural environment.

Come and join me on a guided tour and adventure in Kuala Kubu Baru!
